If we want the results that our business can deliver, we need to focus on the key information, however bad it is currently, and persist whilst taking the right actions. The Fraction ERP dashboard is one great way to do this.

Seeing the real, and current, status of key processes and activities in a business is paramount if we want to make the best decisions possible. Leadership is all about making decisions, ideally good ones. That’s why we developed the dashboard element of Fraction ERP the way we did.

Each tile on the dashboard allows you to drill down into the data behind it, allowing you and your team to make informed decisions. The better the data, the higher chance you have of making a good decision.

If you have studied key performance indicators (KPIs), you’ll know the distinction between leading and lagging indicators. The dashboard is primarily leading indicators, so you have a chance to change the outcome (rather than reading about a disaster after it has happened).

Some examples from Fraction ERP’s dashboard include:

• Stock alerts. If you review this on a daily basis, attempting to stay at zero stock alerts, you have the opportunity to raise a purchase order, replenish stock and this can lead to on time delivery of your orders.
• Late works orders. By constantly nudging the slipping works orders you have the best chance of keeping the overall schedule on track. On track orders leads to high on time delivery performance, fewer customer complaints and better repeat business.
• Parts for inspection. Keeping this metric to zero helps to ensure that all stock is moving in your business, towards production, and out of the door. Keeping material flowing helps to minimise the amount of time you have to spend revising your production schedules.
